چکیده
Abstract Aluminum (Al) alloys are reinforced with carbides and oxides to enhance their properties. Al composites developed meet current automotive, shipbuilding, aviation requirements. In the study, aluminum 6061 is B 4 C Cr 2 O 3 separately fabricate Al6061 + metal matrix (Al MMC). The were fabricated by stir casting a wt % in steps of 2%, 4%, 6%. Joining MMC essential develop valuable components. welded using friction welding (FSW). FSW recognized widely used for joining due premium weld quality minimum defects. present study aims analyze effect process parameters predictive accuracy artificial neural network (ANN) response surface methodology (RSM). selected tool rotational speed, travel reinforcement %. was performed based on experimental design expert software. Through RSM analysis, it found that both independent factors (tool transverse speed) interaction jointly contribute joint higher ultimate strength 139 MPa lower tensile 48 found. Effect of friction stir welding parameters on the ultimate tensile strength of Al-Cu tailor welded blanks
In the present study, parameters of tool rotation speed, tool travel speed and tool offsetting with different levels were used in the friction stir welding (FSW) of aluminum-copper tailor welded blanks (TWBs). The FSW of pure copper to 5052 aluminum alloy were carried out by varying tool rotation speed from 800 rpm to 1200 rpm, tool travel speed from 40 mm/min to 80 mm/min and tool offsetting f...

Polymer-based nanocomposites due to their advantages such as corrosion resistance, adequate mechanical properties and low cost are widely used in modern technologies. The increasing application of these nanocomposites, and hence their welding seems unavoidable. In this paper, a novel hottool in friction stir welding process is used for butt welding nanocomposite plates of 5 mm thick containing p...
متن کاملThe Strength of Friction Stir Welded and Friction Stir Processed Aluminium Alloys
Local strength of friction stir (FS) welds and FS processed aluminium alloys in heat treatable aluminium alloys is dominated by precipitation hardening. Strengthening due to stored dislocations is generally limited to 40MPa, and grain size strengthening is generally less than 10MPa. Local crystallographic texture can cause yield strength variation on the order of 5%. Published models for streng...
متن کاملExperimental Investigations on Microstructural and Mechanical Behavior of Friction Stir Welded Aluminum Matrix Composite
The welding of materials by applying Friction Stir Welding technique is a new solid-state joining technique. The main advantage of this method compared to the traditional joining process is that it minimizes problem-related to metal resolidification as the method incorporates no melting phase. In this experimental work, the effect of friction stir welding (FSW) technique on the microstructu...

Aluminum alloys are used in many applications in which the combination of high strength and low weight is attractive; ship building, air frame, transportation industry etc. are some areas in which the low weight can be significant value. Friction stir welding (FSW) is a new welding technique particularly well suited to aluminum alloys though this technique is also used for other materials. Fric...
